Mother's Day

Well this blog thing isn't starting out to be as consistent as I would like. I'll work on it. Anyways being it was Mother's day this past Sunday the kidlets came home with projects from school. The youngest boy came home with this and another item in an envelope. He said the envelope was for his mom but because he could just make her another one I could have it. I didn't take it, I told him it was ok and it was for his mom. He came to me a bit later and handed me this project. He says its about me, which is believable because of some of the things it says however one can never be sure. I'll translate below as I had to ask what most of it says.

My Mom

My mom is _ years old 26-71

My mom is prettiest when go to wrc (work)

My mom is funny when she tecls (tickles)

My mom likes to make cookies

my mom always says "clen mie rum"(clean my room)

Now he says the first line should be 26 and 17. I am apparently 17 but he admits he didn't have a clue how old I was and just put that old. Now I am guessing that the teacher put that on the board and he copied it but I'm flattered he thinks I am 17.

I also had a funny story from this weekend that shows the youngest girl D's wit that she has. But it is kind of sad if you think about this in the whole family situation. V (kids' mom) was texting Dad about D giving her a hard time and wanted to know if she was babied. No she is not babied she is the one that follows the rules the best here and yes she has major attitude at 8 almost 9 years old. She is also VERY difficult if she is at all tired. So anyway she was apparently giving her mom a hard time and not liking anything she cooked etc. So Dad replied yes she is moody here too but it is way worse if she is tired. He says this knowing the kids say all the time how they stay up as late and there is always lights and tv on. So V tells D that just because she is mad at her doesn't mean she will disappear. And D responds to her mom "No you won't, but I will Sunday." Sunday being the day she would come back home. I laughed. And felt bad for the kids cause it shows how the simple act of having rules and discipline make a child feel secure. 

V texted all this to Dad trying to show that she was being moody and defiant and also texted that they are not up late and that they must be in bed at 11pm. Bed time here is 9pm and I think that's late but it works best for them. I also don't believe they have a bed time there. V lives with her dad and mom in a mobile home. Not that there is anything wrong with that but they do not have beds in this home. I am not sure where they sleep other than D who must sleep in the same chair due to bed wetting. I asked when they came home and they all had a good time so that's good. Glad they are back home even though they make me pull my hair out more than I care to admit most days. 

Just The Start

I have read blogs for a long time. Back before it was "cool" to be a blog reader. I am going to start with a synopsis of my family and what I hope to write about in this here blog.

First I am 28 years young. I have met a man and am in a committed relationship with said man who has 4 children. We love each other most of the time, other times it is hard. I decided to quit my day job and stay home with these 4 children all day long over the summer. I am hoping to chronicle my ups and downs and all the stuff that goes along with it. Hopefully I can look back on the sucky days and learn something and laugh. I am going to keep the kids names anonymous to help keep down on the ability of IRL friends of the children googling their names and ending up here. I may add a photo or 2 once and a while as lets face it blogs are kind of boring if there are no pictures.

I hope to write stories as real as possible but this is my blog and I will omit, change, or embellish all stories as I see fit. So, here goes hopefully I'll get a few readers as the days go by!
